Spawning [ ]
Llamas spawn at calorie-free level 7 or above. They naturally spawn simply to a higher place grass blocks in savanna plateau / savanna[ BE merely ] biomes in herds of four llamas and in windswept hills biomes in herds of 4 to vi llamas. They come in four variants of coat colors: brown, foam, white, gray. Wandering traders always spawn with two leashed trader llamas.
10% of llamas spawn as babies.

.

Adults drop:
- 0-2 leather (upward to 0-v with Annexation 3).
- Any equipped carpets and breast .
- All items in their inventory.
- ane–3, only if killed by a tamed wolf or the thespian.
Upon successful convenance, ane–7 is dropped.
Like other baby animals, killing a baby llama yields no item or experience.
Usage [ ]
Leading [ ]
Llamas do non accept saddles, and so the player can't command one'due south movement, even when tamed. Thus, leads are the best way to move llamas. Leading a llama actually signals all other llamas not already in a caravan nearby (up to nine) to follow each other, forming a caravan of up to 10 llamas. Leashing a second llama forms a caravan of 10 more llamas, and in that location is no intentional limit on the number of llamas following a player.
Storage [ ]

A llama can be equipped with a breast by correct clicking a breast on it once tamed, giving it 3, half dozen, ix, 12, or 15 slots of inventory space, scaling directly with its Forcefulness
NBT (encounter § Data values beneath). Once equipped, the chest cannot be retrieved without killing the llama and can be accessed by shift + right clicking the llama. A llama's potential conduct capacity is a number of item slots equal to 3*Strength
, with a maximum of 15 spaces.

For the purposes of the /item
command, a llama carries its rug in the horse.armor
slot.
Trader llamas that practice not accept a carpet habiliment a blue carpet blueprint. It can exist replaced with a carpeting but non removed. When given carpets, both types of llama look the aforementioned.
Behavior [ ]
Spitting [ ]

Llamas are neutral, but if a histrion or mob attacks one, it spits at the attacker once to deal 1 impairment. Sometimes their spit can miss their target and hitting another llama, starting a fight within a group of llamas. Additionally, a wandering trader's llamas spit at mobs or players who assault the wandering trader.
Llamas are hostile toward wolves and spit without provocation, simply they don't attack tamed wolves unless provoked. Wolves are fearful of llamas of strength 4 or five and ever run abroad, similar to zombies and villagers.[1] Wolves flee from weaker llamas less often.
Despite the spitting beingness a projectile, dying from llama spit notwithstanding shows the decease message "<thespian> was slain by Trader Llama/Llama."
Trader llamas are hostile toward all zombie variants and illagers,[ Coffee Edition merely ] and they defend both themselves and their wandering trader.
The spit entity must belong to a llama to exercise damage, significant that the spit summoned past commands does no damage. Llama spit tin exist deflected if hit by the player.[ Boulder Edition simply ]
Llamas do not attack a player/mob if they attacked another llama.
Taming [ ]
Llamas can exist tamed by repetitively riding them until hearts are displayed, washed by pressing use on the llama while holding nothing.
Taming success depends on the llama's Atmosphere
NBT. Temper
is a positive trait, with college values increasing the take a chance of successful taming. Llamas brainstorm with a Temper
value of 0 and a maximum of 100. When a player rides an untamed llama, a random number from 0 to 99 is chosen. The llama gets tamed successfully if this number is less than the Temper
value, otherwise, the Temper
is increased by 5 and the player is bucked off. Temper
can also be increased by feeding the llama.
Unlike any other tamed animal, tamed llamas can still retaliate at players should the actor hit them.
If a player kills a wandering trader and stays away from the trader llamas for a while, the llamas are tame when the thespian rides it, and the player can place carpets on the llama.
Naturally spawned trader llamas are untamed and cannot be ridden while being led by their wandering trader. If unleashed, they become tamable[ Coffee Edition simply ] or tamed.[ Bedrock Edition just ]
In Coffee Edition, tamed trader llamas do non despawn.
Like all tame animals, a decease message is displayed to a tamed llama'southward possessor if it is killed.
Tamed llamas do not spit at mobs that attack its owner, although it spits at any mob that attacks the llama.
Breeding [ ]
Tamed llamas can be bred by being fed 1–3 hay bales. Both parents must be tamed before they tin can breed. Trader llamas cannot breed.[ Bedrock Edition merely ]
The offspring takes on the advent of one parent randomly. Its force is chosen equally a random integer between 1 and the force of the stronger parent, inclusive. 3% of the fourth dimension the resulting forcefulness is increased by 1, but it is capped at 5.

Select a row based on the stronger parent. The cavalcade shows the probability of the resulting offspring having a given strength.
A llama'due south base health (xv to xxx hitpoints) is calculated based on that of its parents, in the same manner every bit a horse's.
Llamas breed in the vicinity if they are on a lead. Although one of the llamas may non respond to existence fed right away; they take a hay bale/bale(south) if needed to breed. This can issue in consumption from 1 to three hay bales.
Nutrient [ ]
Feeding a llama food tin can alter its behavior, restoring lost health or making a baby grow faster (babies ordinarily take effectually xx minutes to mature to adults). The table beneath lists the effects of the 2 food items llamas accept.
